A hand-painted porcelain figurine manufactured by Capodimonte, depicting a hobo or tramp character seated upon a rustic three-rail wooden fence. The figure is portrayed in a relaxed pose, holding a wine bottle inscribed with the word VINO. He wears a tattered black frock coat featuring a gold-toned crest on the reverse, a green and white checkered waistcoat, and ragged orange trousers. The character is barefoot, with his left foot resting on a burlap sack, while a pair of worn brown shoes is draped over the fence rails. The piece is set upon a shaped base moulded to resemble cobblestones with decorative scrollwork to the edges. The underside of the base bears a blue underglaze backstamp of a five-pointed crown over the letter N, with the arched name CAPODIMONTE below. Incised marks including the numbers 8 and 6, and a small cross are also present to the base.
