A mid-20th century Venetian Rococo style tallboy or chest of drawers featuring a bombé-front carcass. The piece is finished in an off-white painted ground, with the top and side panels decorated with hand-painted floral sprays and blue scrollwork cartouches. It comprises six drawers, each with a shaped front following the serpentine profile of the body. The drawer fronts are further ornamented with raised, moulded acanthus leaf motifs highlighted in gilt finish and vertical blue pinstriping. Each drawer is fitted with two ornate cast metal rococo-style scroll handles finished in white and blue. The chest stands on short cabriole legs. Construction includes dovetail joinery to the drawers, which are made with a light-coloured secondary wood, appearing to be beech or birch.
