A lot comprising two spherical studio art glass paperweights. The first example is crafted from translucent purple glass and features a central core of swirling deep blue and violet glass. This core is surrounded by a regular, tiered pattern of controlled air bubbles, a technique known as bullicante. The second example is of clear glass construction containing internal ribbons of blue and purple glass at the base. A prominent inclusion of white granular frit forms a cresting wave effect through the centre of the sphere. Both pieces are finished with a flat-ground and polished base. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
