A graduated bead necklace crafted from oval phenolic resin beads, a material frequently referred to within the antique trade as cherry amber. In reflected light, the beads present as a deep, opaque reddish-brown. When backlit, they display a vibrant, translucent cherry red colour with characteristic internal swirled marbling. The beads are graduated in size and strung on a tan natural-fibre cord which is finished with a knot rather than a formal clasp. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are present.
