A mid-20th-century British mantel clock manufactured by Smiths. The clock features a mechanical 11-jewel movement. The design comprises a circular dial casing held by two black stylised fanned-pillar supports, likely Bakelite, mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth base. The dial has a wood veneer face with applied brass-toned Roman numerals and ornate Louis style hands protected by a convex glass lens. The dial is marked with a crown emblem above the manufacturer name SMITHS and 11 JEWELS below the arbor. The bottom edge of the dial is marked MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN.
