A set of nine plates from the Midwinter Stonehenge range, decorated in the Sun pattern. This iconic 1970s design features a speckled cream-coloured earthenware body with dark brown iron-spot markings. The central decoration consists of a vibrant orange disc surrounded by a mustard yellow band, finished with a hand-painted dark brown line to the rim. The reverse of each plate bears a black printed factory mark reading STONEHENGE, Midwinter, MADE IN ENGLAND, MICROWAVE & DISHWASHER SAFE, OVEN-TO-TABLEWARE. Characteristic three-point stilt marks from the firing process are visible on the underside of all plates.
