This four piece service by Deykin and Sons of Birmingham consists of a coffee pot, a teapot, a two handled open sugar bowl, and a cream jug. Each vessel is designed in the Queen Anne revival style, featuring a lobed, pear shaped body with deep vertical fluting on the lower half and gadrooned rims. The lidded coffee and teapots are fitted with carved dark wood scroll handles and matching wooden finials. The sugar bowl and cream jug are equipped with cast double scroll metal handles. All pieces stand on four decorative scroll feet. The bases are stamped with the registration number REG 690492, dating the design to circa 1922. Further marks include four shield shaped cartouches containing D & S, B, L, and T, characteristic of Deykin and Sons, and the pattern number 11052. The set is constructed from electroplated nickel silver (EPNS).
