This collection consists of five mid-to-late 20th-century ambulance service uniform badges from the Yorkshire region. The group includes two identical silver-tone and enamel badges for the North Yorkshire Area Health Authority, each featuring a central shield with a caduceus symbol within a white enamel border and an attached Ambulance Service scroll. Also included is a polished silver-tone star badge for the North Yorkshire Ambulance Service, displaying a white Yorkshire Rose on a yellow shield within a blue enamel ring. The lot further contains a gilt-metal and enamel circular badge for the North Yorkshire Ambulance Service featuring a central spoked wheel within a laurel wreath, surmounted by a Queen’s crown. The final piece is a West Riding County Ambulance Service silver-tone star badge with a detailed white Yorkshire Rose and star motif within a dark blue enamel border. The badges are constructed from base metal with silver-tone plating or gilding and hard-fired enamel. All items retain their original rear fixings, which include sliders, lugs, and a loop.
