This lot features two pieces of mid-century studio jewellery reflecting a modernist aesthetic. The first item is an oval white metal pendant or slide, hand-crafted with a pierced and hammered botanical motif. The recessed areas of the design are oxidised for visual contrast, and the reverse is fitted with a single vertical barrel bale. The second item is an elongated, angular mixed-media brooch. It consists of a dark hardwood plaque, possibly rosewood, set within a white metal frame. The front is decorated with applied white metal stylized floral and foliate motifs, featuring small copper-toned spherical accents at the centres of the blossoms. The reverse is fitted with a pin and safety catch mechanism. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on either piece.
