A vintage Japanese battery-operated toy Volkswagen Beetle manufactured by Aoshin. The vehicle is primarily of tinplate construction with a light blue painted finish, decorated with colourful flower decals featuring central VW logos on the bonnet and doors. The interior contains plastic seating components in a yellow and black striped pattern. The toy is designed with a Stop and Go Mystery Action bump-and-go mechanism and a simulated smoking function. It is fitted with large textured black plastic or rubber tyres and metallic-finished front and rear bumpers. The item is accompanied by its original colour-illustrated cardboard box which depicts a red version of the car and contains various operating instructions and cautionary text. The box bears the Aoshin manufacturer logo within an oval and is marked MADE IN JAPAN. The toy is designed to operate on two D size batteries.
