A diverse group of framed artworks and picture frames. The collection includes a depiction after Frans Hals (Dutch, 1582-1666), ‘The Laughing Cavalier’, presented in an ornate gilt gesso frame with foliate and scroll motifs. Also present is a large genre scene on board in the manner of Frank Moss Bennett (British, 1874-1952), depicting an 18th-century gathering outside a Tudor-style inn, set within a stepped gilt frame. The group further comprises a rural landscape scene showing a village green with figures and a signpost in a moulded gilt frame, a framed print after Sir John Everett Millais (British, 1829-1896), ‘Bubbles’ in a dark-toned frame with a gilt slip, and an assortment of empty picture frames in various materials including gilt-finished wood and gesso.
