A pair of oil paintings on board, each depicting a romanticised landscape featuring a rustic building and a small figure dressed in red near a body of water. The works are executed in an impressionistic style characterised by heavy, textured impasto brushwork, particularly notable in the depiction of the dense autumnal foliage and clouds. Each painting bears the signature Beney in the lower right corner. They are housed in matching oval gilt-finished frames with a simple cove profile. The verso of the paintings reveals a plain board support with hanging cords attached by metal discs.
