A hand-carved wooden ethnographic sculpture depicting a stylized human figure in a reclining pose. The sculpture consists of a figure secured to a flat, rectangular base using a thick, hand-twisted natural fibre rope passed through two bored holes. The base is shaped with a rounded end and a raised perpendicular board at the foot. The figure features a disproportionately large head with slit eyes, a broad nose, and a wide mouth. A raised relief in the shape of a capital letter A or a triangle is carved into the forehead. The torso is squat with bent limbs, featuring a prominent cylindrical protrusion at the navel. The surface is textured with visible adze and chisel marks and finished with a dark, aged patina. The reverse of the base shows a weathered surface with numerous small holes indicative of historical wood-boring insect activity.
