A contemporary carriage-style mantel clock by the British clockmaking firm Rapport of London. The gilt-brass case is designed with four glass panels and features fluted corner columns with decorative rings, a stepped cornice, and a matching plinth base. The circular white dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers and ornate, openwork filigree hands, with the maker’s name Rapport printed above the centre. The mechanical movement is visible through the glass panels and features a compensated mercury-style pendulum with a central porcelain insert decorated with two crests or shields. A bell for the striking mechanism is positioned at the rear of the movement.
