A modern Galileo thermometer of characteristic cylindrical form, constructed from clear blown glass with a pointed finial at the apex and a flared circular foot. The sealed tube contains a clear liquid in which five multi-coloured, liquid-filled glass spheres are suspended. The spheres transition through a colour palette of light blue, green, yellow-orange, red, and dark blue. Each glass sphere has an attached circular metal tag indicating temperature. The tags are inscribed with 26, 24, 22, 20, and 18 with degree symbols, representing a temperature range from 18 to 26 degrees Celsius. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the glass body or base.
