A pair of contemporary wall-mounted regulator clocks in the traditional 19th-century style, both featuring the Highlands maker’s mark on the dial. The first clock is housed in a dark reddish-brown wooden case with a triangular pediment top and turned decorative half-columns flanking the glazed door. The white circular dial displays black Roman numerals and ornate hands, with two winding holes indicating a time-and-strike mechanism. The lower glass section of this clock is finished with a gold-tone geometric border. The second clock is constructed from a lighter, oak-finished wood and features more ornate carved scrollwork to the top and bottom sections, complemented by turned pilasters. It similarly features a white dial with Roman numerals and two winding holes. A coiled wire gong strike and a brass-toned pendulum are visible through the glass door of this model. Both pieces are mechanical key-wind movements.
