A contemporary hand-blown Maltese art glass paperweight produced by Mdina Glass. The spherical piece features a vibrant interior of mottled cobalt blue glass, decorated with dynamic, textured pulled trails of lime green and yellow. These coloured elements are encased within a thick, solid layer of clear glass using the sommerso technique. The flattened base of the sphere bears an incised cursive signature for Mdina. The design is characteristic of the studio’s Mediterranean-inspired palettes established by founder Michael Harris.
