A George V sterling silver cigarette case of curved rectangular form, specifically contoured to fit comfortably within a pocket. The exterior is crafted from plain polished silver and bears a hand-engraved personal presentation inscription to the front reading C.C.W. from A.E.B.J. 1917. The interior is finished with a gilt wash and is hallmarked on both the upper and lower sections. The case is constructed with a side hinge and a thumb-piece release catch. The internal hallmarks include the maker mark W.N and S within a quatrefoil for William Neale and Son Ltd, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the lowercase gothic date letter s for 1917.
