A vintage Swedish promotional writing instrument set comprising a matching ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil, custom-produced by Ballograf for the automotive and aerospace manufacturer Saab-Scania. The instruments are constructed from turned dark-stained wood with gold-toned brass fittings, including clips, barrel bands, nose cones, and push-buttons. The clip of the ballpoint pen is incised with the uppercase letters SAAB-SCANIA. The gold-toned barrel band of the mechanical pencil is marked BALLOGRAF, and the band on the ballpoint pen is marked Made in Sweden. Both gold-toned nose cones are stamped with a circular crosshair symbol. The set is housed in a matching dark-stained wooden presentation box featuring an interlocking wooden comb hinge. The lid of the box is decorated with gold-infilled carvings depicting traditional Swedish Bronze Age petroglyphs (hällristningar), including stylized longboats, human figures, animals, and sun wheels.
