This lot consists of three vintage storage items: two stoneware flagons and a large oval metal hat box. The first flagon is a large two-tone salt-glazed vessel with a single loop handle, featuring a honey-brown upper section over a cream-coloured body. The shoulder is stamped with the text JOHN R. WOOD / CHEMIST / SLEAFORD / 1 GALL. and includes an impressed circular maker’s mark for Doulton Lambeth. An incised number 2 is present near the base. The second item is a stoneware flagon finished in a uniform honey-brown glaze, featuring a threaded neck and a matching stoneware screw-top stopper. The body is decorated with extensive black transfer-printed text identifying it as the property of W.T. BRUMPTON and includes the instructions DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE alongside the date 1941. The third item is a large oval metal storage box, likely a deed or hat box, with a hinged lid, a central folding metal handle, and a hasp and staple for a padlock. The box has a dark patinated brown finish.
