A collection of mid-20th-century British domestic pharmaceutical and first-aid ephemera, comprising medicinal bottles, lithographed tins, and cardboard packaging. The assortment is housed within a repurposed wooden biscuit box featuring a paper label for Jacob and Co’s Biscuits. Primary items include a large rectangular First Aid Outfit tin decorated with graphic illustrations of families in domestic and outdoor settings with text reading At Home, On Holiday, At Play, and On The Road.
Pharmaceutical tins include a cylindrical container for Kaolin Poultice B.P. and a small yellow Pickles brand tin for corns, callouses, and hard skin. The glass component includes a large dark amber bottle for Minadex vitamin mineral syrup, a cobalt blue glass apothecary bottle, and various amber glass bottles including Oil of Eucalyptus B.P., Bansor, and Tincture of B.P.
Cardboard and plastic packaging includes multiple examples such as Preparation H containing Bio-Dyne, Earex gentle ear drops, two boxes of Inter-dens Gum Massage Sticks, and a Carmolis carton. Additional items include a white Sterotabs tube, an APS tube, and various smaller vials and tubes. Many items retain original labels with British Pharmacopoeia (B.P.) designations.
