A mixed collection of silver-plated items comprising hollowware and various flatware. The hollowware includes a large twin-handled oval serving tray with a raised rim and two graduated silver-plated sauce boats. One sauce boat features an embossed foliate and floral pattern to the body, a scrolled handle, and stands on three hoof feet, while the second possesses a polished finish with a spurred handle. Also included is a small tarnished cream jug or measure, presented in a fitted blue velvet-lined case with a decorative gold-tone metal clasp. The flatware comprises a quantity of mixed cutlery, including dinner and dessert forks, spoons, and knives. A number of the knives are fitted with handles made from an ivory-coloured material, likely bone or an early synthetic such as celluloid. Notable individual pieces include a sifter spoon with a pierced and embossed bowl. Visible markings include a knife blade with Sheffield hallmarks for sterling silver (.925), featuring the crown assay mark, lion passant, maker’s mark J.R, and a lowercase date letter in a shield with a pointed base. Multiple other pieces are stamped E.P.N.S. for electroplated nickel silver and STAINLESS.
