A collection of three decorative wooden boxes featuring micro-mosaic parquetry and marquetry inlay, characteristic of Taracea or Khatam-kari craftsmanship. The group comprises one hexagonal box, one rectangular box with a central inset miniature playing card representing the Jack of Diamonds, and one rectangular box featuring a raised, domed lid section. The exterior surfaces are embellished with intricate geometric and starburst patterns composed of multi-coloured natural wood veneers and inlaid bone or light-coloured composite elements. Each piece is fitted with brass-toned metal hinges and small exterior latches.
