A mid-twentieth-century personal pocket case, specifically an Art Deco cigarette case. The item consists of a rectangular metal body with a gold tone finish. The front lid is decorated with engine-turned vertical linear grooves and bears a personalised engraving that reads C . C . M . FROM N CHRISTMAS 1938. The reverse and side panels are finished in an enamel or lacquer designed to simulate the appearance of burl wood or tortoiseshell. No manufacturer or maker marks are visible on the exterior. A white lot sticker numbered 1009 is adhered to the reverse.
