A pair of framed sepia-toned monochromatic photographic prints. The subjects reflect the style of early 20th-century French or European risqué studio photography, commonly known as saucy postcards. The first image depicts three figures: a man seated with a partially undressed woman on his lap, while a second partially undressed woman stands behind them. The second image shows a woman in lingerie and stockings standing between two men, with a seated older woman at the base holding a bouquet. Both images feature applied white triangular paper inserts over the female figures’ breasts for the purpose of modesty. The prints are housed in matching rectangular frames featuring a dark faux-burl wood grain finish with black inner and outer edging. While mimicking the appearance of antique originals, these prints are in the style of nostalgic reproductions popularised by R. Hendrickson during the mid-20th century. No signatures, maker’s marks, or edition numbers are visible on the front of the items.
