A pair of monochrome ceramic vases of baluster form, each featuring a waisted neck and a flared, trumpet-style rim. The lower two-thirds of the body is decorated with molded floral relief depicting stylized roses and foliage. The entire exterior, including the interior of the rim, is finished in a uniform, high-gloss turquoise-blue glaze. The items are constructed from an off-white ceramic body, which is visible at the unglazed foot rings. The recessed centres of the bases are glazed and show no maker’s marks, factory stamps, or incised signatures. The style and glaze are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century decorative art pottery produced in the Chinese tradition.
