A late Victorian sterling silver mounted picture frame, hallmarked for London, 1897, by the silversmith William Comyns and Sons. The rectangular frame features an ornate, pierced, and embossed repoussé border in the Neo-Rococo style. The decoration consists of scrolling foliage and acanthus leaves, with four putti interspersed throughout the design. To the left side is a prominent blank heart-shaped cartouche. The silver is mounted onto a black velvet-covered backing with an easel-style stand.
