Buyer's Premium:

A 19th-century Continental mixed-media figurine, likely of German origin, depicting a street musician or one-man band. The figure is constructed from darkly stained wood, possibly boxwood or fruitwood, with inset carved bone or ivory elements. The character is portrayed in tattered clothing and a top hat, carrying a large drum across the chest and a pair of cymbals. The head, hands, feet, drum skins, and cymbals are fashioned from bone or ivory, featuring detailed and expressive facial features. The figurine is mounted on a turned, circular wooden pedestal base. The underside of the base is finished with a circular piece of repurposed paper containing printed German text in Fraktur script, identified as a passage from the Wisdom of Solomon (Chapter 5, verses 3-7).
Height: 17.5 cm.
