A set of four United Kingdom 1897 Queen Victoria silver Maundy coins, comprising denominations of four pence, three pence, two pence, and one penny. Struck in sterling silver, the obverse of each coin features the Old Head effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, surrounded by the abbreviated Latin legend VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The reverse of each denomination depicts a crowned numeral within an open oak wreath, with the date 1897 split on either side of the value. The coins are housed in a black Westminster Collection presentation folder with a printed card insert identifying the set.
