Another Great Auction
A collection of five scale model ships and three model aircraft. The ship models include a wooden scale representation of HMS Victory, featuring a hull finished in yellow and black stripes, detailed masts, and rigging, mounted on a wooden plinth with an HMS VICTORY nameplate. Also present is a wooden scale model of the Mayflower, with a white lower hull and blue, orange, and white striped upper works, complete with rigging and a wooden stand with a gothic-style nameplate. The collection further includes a scale model of the 1846 clipper Sea Witch, featuring a black hull with a red crackle-glaze finish to the lower section, textured fabric sails, and rigging, mounted on a black wooden plinth with decorative metal wheel-style supports and a silver-tone nameplate. The aircraft models comprise a large-scale biplane in the style of the Wright Flyer, featuring white fabric-covered wings, a wooden structural framework, and wire bracing. Two small-scale biplanes, possibly representing the Boeing Stearman, are finished in a yellow and blue US Army Air Corps-style livery with star-in-circle markings; one model includes a small figure of a wing-walker on the upper wing.
