Another Great Auction
This collection consists of four pieces of matte pink stoneware Jasperware featuring applied white bas-relief sprigged decoration. The assortment comprises a heart-shaped open dish with a laurel leaf border and central classical figures, a square lidded trinket box with floral star corner motifs and a scene with a lyre, a circular scalloped lidded box depicting a chariot scene, and a smaller heart-shaped lidded box. Each piece is decorated with neoclassical figures and foliate garlands in the late 18th-century revival style. The technique involves applying pre-moulded white stoneware reliefs onto the matte jasper body before firing. While the colour and execution are highly characteristic of Wedgwood production, no factory marks are visible on the exterior surfaces shown.
