A glassware set by John Jenkins, comprising a large, circular clear glass punch bowl and 10 matching handled cups. The bowl is designed with a modernist silhouette, featuring straight, slightly tapering sides and a flat base. The accompanying cups are of matching clear glass with simple loop handles. One cup retains an original circular silver foil manufacturer’s label, which bears the John Jenkins logo and is inscribed International Porcelain, Crystal & Glass, John Jenkins, Made in Czechoslovakia. The manufacturing origin identifies the set as having been produced prior to 1993. The material is identified by the manufacturer as crystal and glass, characterised by its transparency and lack of decorative cutting or engraving.
