A large and diverse collection of books and annuals, primarily divided into children’s entertainment, adult humor, and military history subjects. The collection includes a group of Viz comic books and annuals published by John Brown Publishing, featuring titles such as The Pearl Necklace, The Bear Trapper’s Hat, The Big Bell End, The Sausage Sandwich, The Dog’s Bollocks, The Turtle’s Head, The Pan Handle, and On the Bone. Children’s annuals from various publishers including Pedigree, World Distributors, and Grandreams are present, with titles such as The Rupert Annual, Batman Annual 1991, Barbapapa Annual 1976, several editions of The Bimbo Book (1974, 1979, 1980), Shoot Annual 1998, Cub Scout Annual (1999, 2000), Dallas Annual, and the News of the World Football & Sports Annual.
The second portion of the collection focuses on military history and aviation, comprising numerous large-format hardcover volumes. Key titles include 1914-18 by Jay Winter and Blaine Baggett (BBC), The World at Arms (Reader’s Digest), Great Aircraft of WWII by Alfred Price and Mike Spick, The Great Battles of World War II (Hamlyn), and D-Day: From the Normandy Beaches to the Liberation of France by Stephen Badsey.
