Another Great Auction
A lot comprising two late 20th-century mechanical wall clocks manufactured by Highlands. The first is a regulator-style clock housed in a reddish-brown wood case with decorative turned bosses at the corners. It features a glazed door with a black and gold stencilled border surrounding a white dial. The dial displays black Roman numerals and ornate black hands, with two winding holes for the twin-train movement. A pendulum is visible through the lower glass panel. The second is an ornate gingerbread-style wall clock in a carved oak-finish wood case with decorative side scrolls and a pediment. It features a full-length glazed door revealing a circular brass pendulum bob. The white dial has black Roman numerals and ornate black hands, also with two winding holes indicating a twin-train time and strike movement. These clocks are styled after 19th-century designs and were likely produced in East Asia.
