Another Great Auction
This lot comprises two domestic items, including a mantel clock and a vintage washboard. The clock is designed in the traditional bracket style with a dark-stained solid wood case, featuring an architectural stepped pediment and base, and is topped with a brass swinging carrying handle. The square white dial is set with black Roman numerals and ornate hands, incorporating a moon phase aperture above the centre. The dial plate has two winding holes, indicating a mechanical movement with a striking mechanism. There are no visible maker’s marks or signatures on the dial or case. The traditional washboard consists of a plain wooden frame housing a corrugated chevron-patterned glass scrubbing surface.
