Another Great Auction
A collection of miscellaneous ceramic tea and dinnerware presented in two groups. The first group, contained within a wicker basket, includes an ornate gold-glazed teapot featuring a central transfer-printed scene of a couple in 18th-century costume within a landscape. This is accompanied by a set of saucers with a matching gold-tone glaze. Also included is an earthenware plate featuring a brown transfer-printed design of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage with a decorative lattice border, and several bone china teacups decorated with polychrome floral and butterfly motifs. A cream jug with a black and gold exterior and a large yellow and pink rose transfer to the interior rim is also present.
The second group, contained within a cardboard box, comprises a partial tea and dinner service. The pieces feature a consistent Art Deco style design on a white ground, characterized by a vibrant yellow border accented with black classical scroll, laurel, and oval motifs. This service includes multiple teacups, saucers, side plates, two cream jugs (one featuring a black handle), a small bowl, and a larger serving bowl. No manufacturer marks are clearly visible on the items in either group.
