Another Great Auction
This lot comprises an Arcoroc glass punch set and an assortment of mixed-pattern ceramic tea wares. The glassware is manufactured by Arcoroc, France, in the Aspen pattern, which is characterised by a molded leaf texture to the exterior surfaces of the clear glass. The set includes a large punch bowl and multiple handled cups, contained within the original retail box marked 26 pièces. The ceramic collection consists of various porcelain and fine bone china items. A notable piece is a commemorative saucer produced for the birth of Prince Harry, bearing the transfer-printed inscription H.R.H. PRINCE HENRY CHARLES DAVID BORN SEPT 15th 1984. Other items feature transfer-printed decorations including red roses with heavy gold filigree borders, blue wildflower and forget-me-not swags, and a pale green net or lace pattern with gilt rims. The group also includes a small cream jug inscribed Grandad and several plain cream-glazed cups. While factory backstamps are present on the undersides of many ceramic pieces, they are not clearly legible for certain attribution; however, the patterns are in the style of mid-20th-century British manufacturers such as Colclough and Aynsley.
