Another Great Auction
This lot consists of a stationary live steam engine and a separate line shaft accessory, both manufactured by Mamod in England. Each component is mounted onto a red-painted pressed steel base with characteristic perforated edges. The stationary engine features a horizontal brass boiler, a single-acting oscillating cylinder, and a cast metal flywheel. It includes a safety valve and integrated copper piping. The line shaft accessory is comprised of a central shaft supported by two green-painted A-frame brackets, fitted with multiple pulleys for power transfer. A brass spirit burner tray with a cranked metal handle and wooden knob is included, alongside a metal spring drive band which connects the engine flywheel to the line shaft. A manufacturer’s label is affixed to one base featuring the Mamod logo and the words MADE IN ENGLAND.
