Another Great Auction
A vintage Stanley Bailey No. 4 smoothing bench plane, manufactured in the mid-to-late 20th century. The tool features a cast iron body with a black japanned finish and is fitted with a stained hardwood tote and front knob. The mechanical components include a brass depth-adjustment nut and a steel lateral adjustment lever. The lever cap features the Stanley name in raised letters set against a recessed orange-painted background. The body casting includes the name Bailey behind the front knob and No 4 in front of it. This item is complete with its original yellow and orange cardboard box, original greaseproof wrapping paper printed with the Stanley logo and the text The Tool Box of the World, and a printed instructional manual.
