Another Great Auction
This electric mantel clock was manufactured by Smiths English Clocks Ltd. under the Smiths Sectric brand name. The design features a circular peach-tinted mirrored glass face held in place by three chrome-plated metal clips. It is mounted on a tiered black-painted base. The dial consists of an outer peach-tinted mirrored ring with applied gold-toned Arabic numerals in a stylized Art Deco font and a central frosted section. The hands are of an openwork circular design. The dial is marked Smiths Sectric below the centre. The reverse of the movement housing is embossed with the text: Made under one or more Brit. Patents 366710, 369438, 374713, 384441, 484222; Made in England; Smiths English Clocks; 200/250V 50~; a stylized SEC registered trade mark logo; and instructions to Press & Turn Knob To Set Hands.
