Another Great Auction
A George V sterling silver tripod cream jug designed in the George II revival style. The vessel features an ovoid body with a flared and scalloped rim, incorporating a broad pouring spout. The jug is mounted on three cabriole-style legs ending in pad feet and is fitted with a simple C-scroll handle. The exterior of the body displays a vertical sequence of British hallmarks, including the maker’s mark CW attributed to Charles Weale, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lion passant denoting sterling silver, and the date letter W for 1921.
