Another Great Auction
This lot comprises two silver rings of contrasting styles. The first is a traditional cluster ring featuring a central oval facet-cut dark red stone, consistent in appearance with a garnet, measuring approximately 8mm x 6mm. The central stone is surrounded by a halo of twelve small round-cut clear stones, held in a multi-prong claw setting atop a split-shoulder band. An incised mark is present on the inner band but is too worn to be transcribed. The second ring is a modernist sculptural design featuring a single oval cabochon stone with honey-brown tones and distinct chatoyant bands consistent with tiger’s eye. The stone is set in a rub-over bezel within an open-work shank where the band splits into two wires to meet the setting. The inner band is stamped with the 925 fineness mark and a maker’s mark.
