Another Great Auction
A collection of English ceramic kitchenware comprising advertising items and patterned tableware. The assortment includes a Ringtons biscuit barrel modelled in the form of a teapot, featuring a cream-coloured body decorated with horizontal stripes in shades of yellow, tan, and light blue, with the transfer-printed text Ringtons Biscuit Barrel on the side. Also present is a Ringtons teapot finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze, featuring a polychrome transfer-printed image of the Ringtons Tea Men characters. A matching Ringtons character jar of cylindrical form is included, featuring a blue glazed body and a figural lid modelled as the face of a tea man character with spectacles and a brown peaked cap. Completing the collection is a Wade earthenware teapot decorated with a transfer-printed blackberry pattern showing ripening berries, green leaves, and a butterfly, with the lid featuring a circular green leaf wreath. The base of the blackberry teapot is marked with the WADE ENGLAND stamp in red.
