An assortment of children’s books and annuals primarily featuring the character Rupert Bear, created by Mary Tourtel and later illustrated by Alfred Bestall. The collection includes several hardcover annuals published by the Daily Express and Express Newspapers, notably the Rupert Classic 1966 Annual Limited Edition Reproduction with a yellow spine and the Rupert 1955 Facsimile Annual with a purple spine. Also present is a red cloth-bound volume titled The Adventures of Rupert published by the Daily Express. The lot contains multiple smaller octavo volumes from the Rupert Little Bear Library published by Sampson Low, Marston and Co., Ltd., including issue numbers 1, 15, and 16. Visible titles include Rupert and the Holiday Adventure by Mary Tourtel and a volume titled George Perry – Rupert. One unrelated volume titled Steam Alive! with the Buzz Books imprint is also included. The books are a mix of quarto-sized annuals with illustrated boards and smaller paper-covered boards.
