A collection of British military and service-related insignia, badges, and commemorative items, primarily from the mid-20th century. The principal item is a framed and glazed embroidered Royal Air Force station badge for RAF El Adem, located in Libya. The badge is executed in coloured threads on a blue felt ground, featuring a central palm tree motif within a circular border inscribed ROYAL AIR FORCE STATION EL ADEM. The design is surmounted by a Queen’s Crown and includes a lower scroll with the motto TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. The badge is housed in a dark wood frame with a rope-twist pattern and a gold-toned inner slip.
The collection also includes a circular white-metal St. John Ambulance Brigade badge or pendant, featuring an eight-pointed Maltese cross with lions and unicorns in the angles. A large heptagonal chrome and enamel badge displays a blue triangle with the initials GEM and a crown symbol above. There are three small metal badges depicting the Royal Crest, consisting of a lion statant guardant standing upon a crown; two are silver-toned and one is brass-toned. Additional items comprise a single brass uniform button featuring the Royal Coat of Arms, a bronze-toned commemorative medal in a square plastic protective case, and a small circular metal fob with decorative scrolling.
