This lot comprises a three-volume set from the scholarly series titled An Inventory of the Historical Monuments in the County of Dorset, Volume II: South-East, published by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England) in 1970 (MCMLXX). The collection is complete in three parts: Part 1 is bound in salmon-pink publisher’s cloth, Part 2 in blue cloth, and Part 3 in tan cloth. Each quarto volume features an illustrated black-and-white vignette of Lulworth Castle within an ornate decorative cartouche on the front board. The title pages are printed in red and black ink and bear the Royal crest. These volumes provide comprehensive archaeological and architectural surveys of the south-eastern region of Dorset, typically including numerous photographic plates, detailed maps, and floor plans.
