Buyer's Premium:

A comprehensive collection of United Kingdom railway and transport-related paper ephemera, housed in a ring binder album hand-labelled Book No. 2 and compiled by Terry E. Bowman. The collection comprises an assortment of rail tickets, season tickets, platform tickets, souvenir museum tickets, London Transport Rover tickets, and seat reservations. The items document British rail travel from the mid-20th century to the millennium, with significant coverage of regional routes in South Yorkshire including Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, and Barnsley, as well as Kent. Notable examples include a 1954 British Transport Commission Holiday Runabout ticket issued to J. T. Drummond Jackson, a 1956 British Railways Eastern Region Privilege ticket for Doncaster and Wath Central, and various juvenile and scholar season tickets from the 1950s and 1960s. The lot also includes souvenir admission tickets for the Museum of British Transport at Clapham, the National Railway Museum in York, and the Great Western Railway Museum in Swindon. Later 20th-century items include a GNER seat reservation from 2000 and a British Rail platform ticket for Doncaster from 1989. The binder contains sections labelled for Pre-World War II and Present Day, with many tickets featuring original punch marks, handwritten details, and signatures of the original holders.
