A circular, lidded trinket or jewellery box constructed from white metal, likely silver-plated or a low-grade silver alloy. The lid features high-relief repoussé and chased decoration of dense floral and foliate scrolls. The surface is inset with thirteen multi-coloured glass or paste stones in various cuts, including round, oval, teardrop, marquise, and square. The stones include faceted examples in shades of sapphire blue, emerald green, ruby red, and amethyst pink, as well as turquoise-coloured cabochons and one iridescent square stone. The side of the box is decorated with a continuous chased frieze depicting stylized figures and motifs, with two additional small green stones set into the side wall. The interior is lined with a red velvet fabric. The metal exhibits an intentional dark patina in the recessed areas to enhance the decorative detail. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the piece.
Interior diameter: approximately 10 cm.
