A trio of vintage glazed earthenware condiment or preserve jars, characteristic of mid-20th-century British novelty kitchenware and produced in the style of manufacturers such as SylvaC or Price Kensington. Each vessel is moulded into a stylized anthropomorphic face. The set includes a jar finished in a deep maroon glaze, featuring a face with large pointed ears and a lid embossed with the word BEETROOT in block capitals. A second jar is finished in a medium brown glaze with scrolled handles acting as ears and a lid embossed with Onions in cursive script. The third jar is finished in a pale tan glaze with small rounded ears and a lid shaped to resemble the top of a vegetable.
