This mid-20th-century ladies’ hat, dating from circa 1960, is a pillbox or toque style retailed by the British brand Cresta. The garment is constructed with a structured dark brown wool felt crown and a wide band of plush, dark brown mink fur. A small decorative felt tab detail is located on one side of the crown. The interior is finished with a dark brown grosgrain ribbon sweatband and includes a rectangular cream fabric label printed with the words Created for Cresta. The hat is accompanied by its original cylindrical cardboard hat box, which features a black lid and a cream-coloured base with a printed Cresta logo.
